Meet Nathan & Erin

EasternWashington

Hello, we’re Nathan and Erin and we are looking to adopt.  Thank you for taking a few minutes to learn about us.  We met each other at church years ago and began to develop a great friendship.  After years of dating and being best friends, we were married in the summer of 2008 in a colorful ceremony with chartreuse and magenta.  Since then, we’ve continued to build on that friendship and we really enjoy sharing life with one another.  We live in beautiful Eastern Washington in a 4 bedroom home in a great neighborhood with 2 parks (each with playgrounds) and miles of paved walking paths.  We love having adventures and making memories.  Being active and enjoying the outdoors with things like camping, hiking, swimming, and sports are a few of the things we like to do.

Nathan has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years and currently works as a Senior Systems Analyst for a local Healthcare System.  He has great benefits and extremely flexible hours, which allows him to work from home at least twice a week.  His hobbies include playing sports, photography, evening walks, hiking, camping, strategy games, and playing guitar.  He loves having fun with our nieces and nephews and getting down on their level to play with them.

Erin runs her own business as an independent consultant for a natural skin/body care line of products.  She loves the work she does and the people she works with.  She also works from home and, as her own boss, sets her own hours.  She loves to have fun, be creative and to be intentional about making memories. Her hobbies include: photography, gardening, cooking, playing piano, and being artsy. She has always desired to be a stay-at-home mom and looks forward to fulfilling that dream of hers soon.

Although we’ve enjoyed the years we’ve had together, we have both desired to be parents since day one and fully expected to start a family shortly after getting married.  For reasons known only to God, that hasn’t happened for us yet.  Being parents is still a passion we have and we are both excited to pursue adoption as we both feel like God has been leading us in this direction.  We have several nieces and nephews in our family that have been adopted, so we’ve had the opportunity to see what a blessing it is for all the parties involved.

We both love children and really enjoy being around them and working with them.  Nathan coached girls’ soccer for 6 years to help a friend whose daughter’s team didn’t have a coach. He started coaching the girls when they were 6 years old.  He looks forward to coaching our kid one day.

He also served as the Youth Pastor at church for about 5 years, where he was responsible for the junior high through college aged groups. He’s also had the opportunity to lead a couple internship programs and mentor kids over the years.  For the last year, Nathan has volunteered at our local pregnancy center where he goes through the 24/7 Dads curriculum with the dads that come through the center to help equip them to be the best dads they can be for their kids.  Erin has 21 nieces and nephews on her side of the family and has many years’ experience babysitting kids, working in childcare, and teaching Sunday School.  We love kids and are very excited to be parents.

We have both been blessed with wonderful families. Both sides of our families live in town, as well as our siblings.  So, our child will be surrounded by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Everyone is so excited for us to adopt and can’t wait to meet him or her.  We also have a great network of friends who are very excited for us and are already talking about stroller walks and get-togethers for the kids.

If we had to sum ourselves up in a single sentence, we would say we are authentic, sincere people with a genuine love for God, each other, and others.  Our Christian faith is very important to us and we do our best to live what we believe and not just talk about it.
